If you saw the TV series , you can understand that we were disappointed it couldn’t have been a cyclist wot done it, as cyclists are not allowed to cross the bridge. Instead we had to take the train which runs under the road of the bridge from Denmark to Malmo.
We hit the 1000km mark just before Copenhagen. We had been following the Danish cycle routes initially route 8 south and then 9 north, via the beautiful islands of Falster and the white cliffs of Mons. Lots of fields with cornflowers, poppies and iron age sites. You do get used to the ease of cycling when you have road priority. We met plenty of cycle tourists even whole families touring on their bikes, most were German all of whom spoke perfect English.
“Wonderful Copenhagen” is best explored via boat and foot however, as it’s so busy in Summer.
